We are pleased to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Employees’ Trust Fund Board has decided to implement in a new appearance the financial assistance scheme it granted to the children of the members of the ETFB who have sat the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination from the year 2023 onwards.
Accordingly, with effect from the year 2023, the children of the active members of the ETFB who sat for G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination in January 2023 for the year 2022 will be provided with financial assistance under this new Benefits Scheme subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000.00 to follow a course of study having recognition at the level 3, 4 and 5 of the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) conducted by the vocational training institutes registered under the National Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
Following the submission of the relevant certificates/documents to us upon successful
completion of the course, the payment of the course fees will be made under the
following methods. The course registration fee is payable by you and is non
reimbursable.
1. Payment of course fees directly to the Vocational Training Institute
Following our Board’s confirmation of your application as an eligible one, you are
required to select a recognized vocational course (at NVQ level) listed herein and
register yourself with an approved institute where you wish to pursue such a course
of study. Upon submission of the documents related to such registration, our Board
will issue a Guarantee Letter having regard to the payment of course fees to the
institute concerned.
Upon successful completion of the course, the course fee subject to a maximum
limit of Rs.50,000/- will be paid by our Board to the vocational training institute
concerned.
2. Reimbursement of course fees to the students
If the course fee has been paid to the training institute by the relevant student and
the course of study has already been commenced, the amount of fees will be
reimbursed to the particular student on submission of the proof of the said
payment upon successful completion of the course. The bank account details of the
student should be provided to uswhen submitting the application for the purpose.
Students, even if they have followed one of our approved course shaving appeared for the
Advanced Level Examination 2023 (for the year 2024) before receiving the results
thereof, may also apply for this benefit.

Part III :
Details of the present employer of mother / father / guardian and other supportive documents are also available for upload.
Applying for the Benefits
I. Before completing the online application form the application which shall be completed by employer should be downloaded.(EMP form)
II. It shall be correctly completed by the current employer.
III. Scan the completed employer application .(EMP form) along with the supportive documents.
Supportive documents required to avail of these benefits.
1. The Application completed and certified by the present employer.
2. A distinct photocopy of the National Identity Card of the student.
3. A distinct photocopy of the birth certificate of the student.
4. A distinct photocopy of the student's result sheet (to be downloaded from the official website of the Department of Examinations).
5. A distinct photocopy of the National Identity Card of the respective Member.
6. If the application is made by the guardian (if not by the mother/father),documents necessary to prove the legal custody should be submitted.
7. The documents numbered 2 to 6 should be certified by the present employer or Grama Niladhari or a lawyer or a Justice of the Peace and copies of the said documents should also be uploaded along with the application.
8. If there is a difference between the name of the mother/father/guardian on the birth certificate of the student and the name on the member's National Identity Card, a letter from the employer certifying to the effect that both the names denote one and the same person.
9. If there is a difference between the name stated in the member's National Identity Card and the name in the Form II records, a letter from the employer certifying to the effect that all such names denote one and the same person.
IV. A PDF file is required to be made after having scanned the above documents.
V. The said PDF file should be renamed after the National Identity Card Number of the child.

The information contained in the application submitted by the applicants and the particulars of the relevant contribution payments will be checked with our records and the applicants will be informed as to whether they become eligible for these benefits, through an electronic letter (E-mail) or short message (SMS).
